Pancreatitis: Isotretinoin can cause the pancreas to become inflamed. Report signs of pancreatitis such as abdominal pain on the upper left side, back pain, nausea, fever, chills, rapid heartbeat, or swollen abdomen to your doctor immediately.
Skin care: Isotretinoin causes irritated, dry skin and lips. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for appropriate moisturizers and lip balms to use to prevent severe dryness.
While you are taking isotretinoin, avoid exfoliators, waxing and dermabrasion, or laser procedures.
Use appropriate measures to prevent excessive exposure to the sun. These include wearing a hat and sunglasses when out in the sun, using a sunscreen that provides an SPF of 15 or more, and avoiding going out in the sun between 10 am and 2 pm when the sun is at its strongest.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure which of your supplements might contain vitamin A. In this case, skip the missed dose and take the next capsule at the usual time.
Never take a double dose.
Never take an extra dose to make up for a missed one. You could also ask your pharmacist for advice on other ways to help you remember to take your medicine.
What if I take too much? Will the dose I take go up or down?

If you become pregnant during treatment with isotretinoin capsules, stop taking the capsules and tell your doctor as soon as possible. It's very important that you do not get pregnant while you're taking isotretinoin capsules.
You'll be asked by your doctor to follow strict rules to prevent pregnancy during treatment and for 1 month afterwards.
